Disney Channel – Kids show your parents how to be smart online!

Tonight I sat down with Skye (my 5 year old) as he watched the Disney Channel.

I had  a great chuckle as I heard Phineas and Ferb  covering the Common Sense of ONLINE Rules..<click link to watch the short video>  …..teaching our kids what many adults deserve to learn!

Really giggled when I saw the tag line of “Common Sense Media”!   Very smart that Disney is teaching this to our kids and hopefully our kids can then teach the parents!   ; )

Well done Disney!

Myself and Polaris Global Media agree with your simple, common sense message!

Information Age or MIS Information Age – the internet and Polaris Global

The internet and Polaris Global

We love the internet!   and we love Google.

Information about anything, is at our fingertips at any moment. For those encyclopedia sales men that used to hit the streets packing those large books, this is a miracle!  Along with ALL of this information comes a lot more discerning research required on the consumer/ info seekers part.  As a consumer today seeking an at home business, they have to sift and weed  through much information.

Here are a few guidelines to ensure one is getting facts, and not misnomers, as it relates to the information on the internet.

1. Is the source of information credible?

Some things to look for:   Is the person posting using their name?   If they are not willing to use their name,  or if they using a false name, they may have something to hide.  If a person is being truthful about what they are posting, why would they not use their name?

2.  What is  the agenda of the person posting?

Often times other marketers from other companies, will use the publicity and credibility of another company in attempt to sway one’s interest to their opportunity.

3.   What perspective is the person posting coming from?

Are they disgruntled?  Are they taking any responsibility or just pointing blame?  If/when a person is posting negative comments, in most cases, they have not taken responsibility for thier own choices and have given all the power of choice to someone else. They want you to believe they are a victim.  We all know we have our own choices to make.  If the person posting negative comments spent  that time focusing on their goals, and speaking out how they are responsible for their results, they would most likely be having massive results, and be extremely happy people, and would not spend a second of their time blaming others.

4.  Is the person posting getting the results you want in life?

This seems obvious and really goes back to number 1.   Make certain the information you are getting on the internet is in fact true by speaking with someone. Be in touch with someone, and ask  directly about what you read.   That is the only way to make an informed decision.

The worse thing you can do is pass on the opportunity to live your dreams because someone else did!

Before believing everything you read on the internet- ensure you get the facts.
